Tentative Title: Evaluating Internet Sources
Target Audience: 6th Grade RW+ students, other grades and subjects as opportunity knocks
Curriculum Goals: Vary by content area
Media Literacy Goals:AASL Standard 1.1.6 and 1.1.7
Other Goals: Develop WMS student Media Literacy skills horizontally, to better prepare current 6th graders for 8th grade project in two years.
Proposed Activities: Expand on current "Internet Knowledge" unit as presented to 6th graders through their RW+ course (developing reading and writing skills related to expository texts of all types) http://west.auburn.cnyric.org/west_Library/Internet%20Knowledge
Assessment/Evaluation (how will you know your APP works to meet your goals?): Formative assessment through class discussion; final assessment written explanation by student (teachers will grade)
